My coastal Mississippi town, right on the Gulf of Mexico, provides beautiful sunsets, such as the one seen here. The beach at my Father's home, where this picture was taken, is one of my favorite places in the world. There's just something inspiring and healing about looking out over the water. When life gets to be too much, this is where I run.
"We call it, Langsam. A super duper cheap economy train. Crowded; Noisy; Hot; Dark (during the night), you can find it all here. Is that all?? NO!! Here you can also find 'Girl Power' and 'Heroes'. Single mom who sells steamed sweet potato and nuts. An old lady who sells traditional snack from Rangkas called lepet, blind couple and a guitar who sing beautifully and many other stories. Inside this old train, you'll find a life."
This week this is - My Town. One of the things that's fun about traveling to new places is seeing different parts of your state, country and the world. The scenery is different, seasons are different, some places we rural and other a metropolis.
I am natural of Curitiba PR Brazil, a southern city known for having the 4 seasons expressed in just one day. We wake up to cold, melt by midday and freeze again at night. That is where I was born, and I guess I learned to like it.
"I love to be accessorized! Earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. It's a fun way to dress up any outfit and express my personal style. Shop for them, create them, blog about them and layer them on! I love accessories... And um.......I have a lot. LOL!" (these are just my necklaces. OY!) - Megan
I'm constantly told that I would look "so much prettier" if I wore contacts instead of glasses, to which I always smile my 'polite smile,' and continue on my way. These glasses are such a symbol of my benevolent stubbornness and of my recently acquired skill to do the small things that make me happy.
Working with children, a fully-developed, outrageous, super-silly side is encouraged. Kids respond to it and it puts them at ease. I've been known to bust out a rap, or dance across the room singing musicals. You just never know.......The great part of it? I get the benefit of hearing one of the world's greatest sounds: the uncontrollable giggling of a child.
Each Sunday evening we will announce what the theme is for the coming week is. Then each day in that week one of the 7 women will from around the world will post their photo. You will get to see their interpretation of the topic and how it relates to their life.
I am happy to announce that in about 2 weeks this project will start up again!
I found 5 ladies (plus me is 6) from all over the world that will share 1 photo from their life each week for 1 year!
We will have a theme each week that the photos will be based on. Some will be fun and some will be deep. Some will make us and you cry, laugh, relate or even think. They will all show through 1 snapshot a bit about each of us. A little peek into our lives, our passion and our heart.....
