As women we tend to carry purses. Some large some small. Sometimes they are jammed full of crazy stuff! And sometimes we just have a few items. We are going to spill the contents of our purses this week. It will be fun to see what they "reveal" about our day to day lives. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6KTB2tppdmM/UU-_uFPx5PI/AAAAAAAARKM/Fmj6ae3f8AE/s1600/woman_holding_yellow_purse-2.s600x600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6KTB2tppdmM/UU-_uFPx5PI/AAAAAAAARKM/Fmj6ae3f8AE/s640/woman_holding_yellow_purse-2.s600x600.jpg" width="428" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Megan/Brassy Applenoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5651286078947524249.post-77571903149458561022013-03-31T02:30:00.000-06:002013-03-31T02:30:01.199-06:00Nighttime - soap opera<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rK3JQ71th2E/UVeqvijM0BI/AAAAAAAAAl0/GnYcH8RSo7I/s1600/Capa_CORTESIA_Carrossel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rK3JQ71th2E/UVeqvijM0BI/AAAAAAAAAl0/GnYcH8RSo7I/s640/Capa_CORTESIA_Carrossel.jpg" width="454" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Name: Audrey</div><div style="text-align: center;">Location: Curitiba, Brazil</div><br />&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Carrossel is a mexican soap opera I watched (dubbed in Portuguese) when I was a kid in 1991 and that has been rewritten and retaped (with Brazilian actors now) by a Brazilian TV channel since last year. Now my daugther watches it every night and she loves it. It is about a loving teacher (professora Helena) that goes way beyond the classroom to teach good virtues to her kids in the most different, dramatic, fiction filled ways. Don't tell anyone but we cried when professora Helena left the school for a better paying job. Of course she returned to her old job about 10 chapters later...<br />&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; It really can be cute and I must admit I have learned to enjoy wathcing it again. It is on every night at 8:30 pm and she (we) canĀ“t miss it. So, like every good Brazilian, our nighttimes include soap opera watching. But at least this is a 'good', decent one.Audreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02676190276869900247noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5651286078947524249.post-7661562637585067772013-03-30T08:51:00.001-06:002013-03-30T08:51:16.497-06:00Nighttime - reading<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jkiOv5OlW-U/UVb7VAAkGGI/AAAAAAAARN0/kmPxF28FLAY/s1600/reading+at+bedtime.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jkiOv5OlW-U/UVb7VAAkGGI/AAAAAAAARN0/kmPxF28FLAY/s640/reading+at+bedtime.jpg" width="570" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;Name: <a href="http://www.brassyapple.com/">Megan</a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Location: Utah, USA</div><div style="text-align: center;">Something that is consistent around our house at nighttime is reading. I just hate deciding WHAT to cook! :) and sometimes I just feel like we are eating the same things over and over. So I've been trying to mix in some new recipes or food we don't eat often or have never tried. Hence my picture above. The photo on the left is a new recipe we tried for dinner one night and the right is a new food. In honor of this, I'll be preparing the birthday cake (Mr. Noisy, from the <i>Mr. Men</i> series of books), pizza and some ginger cookies (his favorite.) In the last year, we have made a concerted effort to cook at home, as well as to use prepacked foods as little as possible. Last year, the cake and the frosting would have been Betty Crocker, and the pizza would have come from Pizza Hut. This year, it will all be from scratch, except the pizza sauce. (I use a spaghetti sauce that contains only vegetables and spices, so I don't feel too guilty about that one.) Since we've made this switch, we've become so much less wasteful, so much more aware of what we are eating, we crave junk foods and take out only rarely, and our kids get sick far less often. We know that someday our children will go off into the world and start choosing their own foods. We hope that if we start early, they'll choose wisely when they do.</div><br />Annette Henke Tejpalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17077357168402362121noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5651286078947524249.post-7685139257024498622013-03-20T03:00:00.000-06:002013-03-20T03:00:03.876-06:00Cooking {It's what's for dinner}<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ky91IeQBH9k/UUjMuGefLrI/AAAAAAAABLg/J8wNsySNJFw/s1600/IMG_2027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ky91IeQBH9k/UUjMuGefLrI/AAAAAAAABLg/J8wNsySNJFw/s400/IMG_2027.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Name: Amy</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Location: Wassenaar, Holland</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">There are some days that I absolutely love to cook &amp; other days I just am not quite feeling it!!! I do have to say that I am a pretty darn good cook. There are recipes that I have and add my own flair! As with the recipe above I had to perfect it. I'm thankful to have 2 good eaters and one not such a great eater {picky}! It's what's for dinner.
